The Swahili teak range is an all-natural wood product; therefore, each piece may be affected by its environment. Over time, teak products may develop splitting and cracks; these perfectly imperfect traits form the organic beauty of teak furniture.

Due to the inherent qualities of teak branches, they may have uneven texture, tones, and colour variations. Please note that changes in the colour tone of teak can occur over time.

A characteristic of teak is the leaching of natural oils which means that unavoidable staining on soft materials may occur.

The natural tendency for teak is to patina beautifully into a silvery-grey look, which develops over time in natural conditions, including sunlight and ambient moisture. The benefits of teak allow it to gracefully weather while maintaining its integrity so as not to degrade like other hardwoods and softwood.

As with any natural material, existing fluids and moisture can leach over time. A natural process of teak involves oil moving to the surface of the teak.

This natural process of teak oil leaching can cause staining; this can be especially evident if the furniture pieces are experiencing exposure to weather elements, particularly rain.

We do not recommend placing this natural timber piece directly onto carpets or rugs. Moisture will generally seep through the ends of the timber. If placing it onto carpets or rugs, markings may be avoided by using a protective liner such as thick plastic.

None of the above is viewed as a fault; we embrace these changes as the natural characteristics and beauty of timber furniture.
